Singapore unveils 250-hectare Greater Sentosa Master Plan

New details about Singapore’s plans to enhance Sentosa and Pulau Brani into a more accessible, nature-filled island destination have been revealed. A public exhibition now welcomes residents and visitors to discover the future of one of Asia’s top leisure spots.

The ‘Your Island. Reimagined.’ exhibition, launched by Grace Fu, Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, showcases the Greater Sentosa Master Plan. It highlights potential future developments of the islands, including new icons, redesigned beaches, immersive nature experiences, and improved connections.

The Greater Sentosa Master Plan covers around 250 hectares and aims to integrate Sentosa and Pulau Brani through a long-term vision. It enhances Sentosa’s status as Singapore’s island playground and sanctuary. The plan divides Greater Sentosa into four unique zones, each tailored to the islands’ distinct qualities, offering new opportunities for exploration, leisure, and connecting with nature.

“It is incredibly exciting to see the Greater Sentosa Master Plan now being shared with the people of Singapore. From the beginning, the ambition was to imagine the future of Sentosa not simply as a series of attractions, but as a living landscape — one that celebrates the unique qualities of these islands, strengthens connections with nature and creates experiences that will inspire future generations. Singapore continues to demonstrate extraordinary leadership in recognising the power of landscape to shape more resilient, sustainable and engaging places.”

Andrew Grant, Founder and Director of Grant Associates,

The Vibrant Cluster will build on Sentosa’s existing energy as a place for leisure, entertainment and shared experiences. A key future destination within this zone is Sensorium at Siloso Beach — envisioned as a multi-purpose lifestyle destination that will create new opportunities for wellness, events, dining and day-to-night experiences.

The wider beach experience will also be transformed through reimagined coastlines and enhanced public spaces, creating more diverse ways for visitors to enjoy Sentosa’s waterfront while strengthening connections between land and sea.

The Island Centre will celebrate Sentosa’s natural landscapes and provide new immersive ways to experience the island’s ecology. New concepts include Imbiah Canopy and Imbiah Lookout Walk, creating elevated journeys through the landscape and offering visitors new perspectives of Sentosa’s forest environment.

These nature-led experiences reflect the wider ambition to protect and enhance Sentosa’s environmental qualities while improving biodiversity, thermal comfort and climate resilience.

The Waterfront zone will strengthen Greater Sentosa’s relationship with the surrounding coastline, unlocking new opportunities for exploration and recreation. Future concepts include islet-hopping experiences and enhanced coastal destinations that encourage visitors to discover the islands from new perspectives.

The transformation of Pulau Brani will create a new complementary island destination, reimagining former port infrastructure into a vibrant extension of Greater Sentosa with new waterfront experiences, attractions and public spaces.

The latest announcements build on the Greater Sentosa Master Plan developed by Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) with an international multidisciplinary design team including Grant Associates, WilkinsonEyre, Arup and WOHA.

As master planner and landscape architect within the team, Grant Associates helped shape the master plan vision and planning strategy — exploring how Sentosa and Pulau Brani could evolve as a more connected, resilient and nature-centric destination.

The Greater Sentosa Master Plan will be delivered progressively over the next two decades, supporting Sentosa’s continued evolution as a world-class destination shaped by nature, recreation and discovery.

The ‘Your Island. Reimagined.’ exhibition will tour Singapore over the coming months, inviting residents and visitors to discover the future of Sentosa and Pulau Brani.
