WLA welcomes S&P Architektura Krajobrazu as a Sponsor

We are starting off 2021 by welcoming some new supporters who have recently joined WLA. We especially welcome S&P Architektura Krajobrazu as a new WLA Sponsor. Through their support, WLA can remain an independent landscape architecture industry website publishing projects, news, competitions from around the world.

S&P Architektura Krajobrazu (S&P) is a landscape studio with offices in Warsaw (Poland) and Ekaterinburg (Russian Federation). The geography of their projects covers China, Russia, Middle East, Poland and other European countries.

Forum City – Metropolitan intimacy in Yekaterinburg, Russia

S&P is a company with a diverse portfolio of projects, and an experienced team of landscape architects, urban designers and technicians with a passion and energy to create meaningful and evocative designs. Their staff shares the ambition to use integrated landscape planning and landscape design as a means to deal with concerns over climate change, quality of life, and biodiversity, not only in densely populated urbanized areas, but also in all spaces influenced by human activities.

S&P believes that landscape architecture is about creating communities and culture as much as it’s about creating spaces “for life to happen within them”. Their designs try to balance the needs of people – improving lives and wellbeing of their communities, with respect to the natural environment and obligations to preserve and protect all its elements and their complex matrix of dependences. They often try to mimic natural processes like natural succession to achieve the optimal results for the location within which we are currently working, and frequently imbed such processes in schemes as means of directing their further evolution and as a method of future self-maintenance. Having a strong knowledge of plant material, their physiological requirements and climatic dependences, S&P is able to create complex, resilient plant communities within our schemes, adapted to the site requirements and functions.

While working in harsher climates they do not forget that spaces they create will have to serve communities 12 months a year, providing not only access and basic functions, but serving as places for recreation and rest.

S&P Architektura Krajobrazu supports iconic developments when they find it fitting however,  often they choose to blend their schemes with the surrounding to create more esoteric and sensual experiences that would entice people to come back again and again.
