In the past few months, there are two guides that have been published that are a great resource for landscape architects especially those in London. The Urban Wetland Design Guide and the Urban Greening for Biodiversity Net Gain.
The Urban Wetland Design Guide by Enfield Council, Zoological Society London with funding from Mayor of London is a great guide that provides great definitions, design principles, considerations (engagement, safety, etc). planting, examples and a glossary. The principal author of this guide is Ian Russell, London Borough of Enfield, with support from Joe Pecorelli and Azra Glover of ZSL. the Urban Greening for Biodiversity Net Gain provides some key information about Urban Greening Factor Design Considerations and the biodiversity potential. The content It provides information for various typologies including Living Landscape, SuDS, Roofs, Public Realm. It is a brief document (20 pages) that provides simple information in an easy to read format. Published by London Wildlife Trust and Mayor of London.
