Korean Wave in the Garden explores the relationship between Korean tradition and contemporary culture within a lakeside park setting. A minimal, bright-pink pavilion, inspired by traditional forms, becomes a landmark by day and a glowing frame by night. The design draws from bojagi textiles, translating their geometry and colours into fluid, non-hierarchical planting patterns. A multi-layered landscape includes an Amelanchier tree, an intimate contemplative space with rocks and Korean firs, and several circular planting areas expressing diversity through colour and species. With open, free circulation, the garden becomes a dynamic and immersive environment—both a place to gather and a contemporary cultural statement.

At night, the water ring became a ring of light. Visitors are invited to walk through the curtain of water, a metaphorical journey that crosses the boundary between nature and human intervention to find an individual time and space of inspiration.
The simplicity of the garden emphasises the dynamic interaction of the materials and their transformative and ecological potential. It challenges visitors to rethink humanity’s role within the planet’s larger narrative, making the garden not just a space to observe and experience but a threshold for transformation and reflection.
