April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM), a time for the landscape architecture profession to celebrate landscape architecture and inspire clients, consultants, students, and the public through education and advocacy.
Here are some ways that you can celebrate World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM):
- Have an open house at your studio or at one of your recent projects, providing information about what you do as a landscape architect and your projects in your city.
- Provide your local schools with a toolkit or information about landscape architecture. Many institutes and associations have materials you can access and forward.
- Attend a careers day at a school or host a round table with other firms at your university, inviting all students to attend
- Advertise your internship or work experience program
- Advocate for your landscape architecture institution or association to host a round table with allied professionals to discuss the issues within your city or community around the built environment
- Put some “Designed by a Landscape Architect” signs up in your latest project
- Send an email or letter to your government representatives about the importance of landscape architecture as a profession
- Post a fun video on Instagram or other social media about your landscape architecture projects and tag (or add collaborator) your institute or WLA (Instagram: worldlandscapearch Facebook: worldlandscapearchitecture, and LinkedIn)
World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM) is a great opportunity to educate, invigorate, and have fun with you and your team. If you need ideas or prompts, visit the ASLA 2026 WLAM Toolkit.
