Changsha is the capital city of Hunan Province. The Xiang River is the largest river in Hunan and one of the largest tributaries of the Yangtze River. It bisects the city into the older eastern area and the newly developing western area. Within the river corridor are several large islands formed over time from sand shoal deposits.

Winners of Kai Tak River International Design Competition announced

On the 8th January, Mr Paul Chan, Secretary for Development for Hong Kong, announced that out of 90 entries, the competition attracted more than 90 entries from Hong Kong, the Mainland and overseas. The Jury Panel of the Competition found that most of the entries could accommodate both the overall setting of the river and the peripheral development while the winning entries made use of simple and innovative design ideas to optimise space for public activities. Morphis won the international design competition for Kai Tak River with their The ‘Living Roots’ design concept.

The adidas Group announces a Call for Ideas: looking for teams consisting of landscape architects, architects, artists, designers, digital media designers, lighting designers, and mobilty experts who creatively look into the redesign of the open spaces of the World of Sports Campus in Herzogenaurch.

The open space (54 hectare) functions as a formative element of the World of Sports – the concept has to merge two different ideas: the campus shall become a high-quality space that can be collectively experienced and it shall communicate the brand values of the adidas Group.

Kai Tak Fantasy Competition Winner Healthy Lift Off 1

Mr. Paul Chan, Secretary for Development and Head Juror of the Kai Tak Fantasy International Ideas Competition, announced the results at the Award Ceremony on 14 November 2014. Upon the thorough consideration by the Jury Panel during the final adjudication, Entry C Kai Tak 2.0: Healthy Lift Off (啟德 2.0: 健康啟航) was selected as the winning entry.
