
As MKSK continues its growth and evolution, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Principal Jeffrey Pongonis, FASLA, as Practice Leader for Landscape Architecture and Principal Andrew Overbeck, AICP, as Practice Leader for Urban Planning.
These leadership promotions reflect MKSK’s commitment to design excellence, innovation, and thought leadership while fostering growth across the firm’s twelve offices and its 150 employee owners nationwide. Jeffrey and Andrew bring extensive experience to each project with, a deep understanding of emerging national trends, and a shared passion for advancing the profession. As Practice Leaders, they will help guide the firm’s approach to forward-thinking planning and design, the integration of new technologies, and the evolving needs of our clients and communities.
As a landscape architect and urban designer, Jeffrey is dedicated to creating meaningful, connected, and enduring environments. His work balances the thoughtful design of vibrant public spaces with broader urban strategies that strengthen communities and support long-term resilience. Grounded in contemporary infrastructure systems, connected pedestrian networks, and integrated green corridors, his approach advances human-scaled places that are both functional and uniquely inspiring. Jeffrey’s diverse portfolio spans mixed-use developments, higher education campuses, parks, open spaces, riverfronts, and urban redevelopment projects, all reflecting his commitment to contextual and impactful design.
Andrew has led award-winning planning and urban design initiatives across more than a dozen states, helping communities transform downtowns, reconnect neighborhoods, enhance public spaces, and create resilient places that attract investment and improve quality of life. He believes the most successful plans do more than guide development and investment—they articulate a shared vision that inspires people, strengthens communities, and leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come.
