Landscape Forms Expands Take-Out® Collection

Landscape Forms has expanded its award-winning Take-Out® line of connected seating, introducing new elements that build on the collection’s hallmark simplicity, versatility and human-centered design. Designed by Rodrigo Torres, Take-Out continues to evolve as a lightweight, reconfigurable system that supports how people learn, work and gather outdoors across campuses, public spaces and hospitality environments.

The expanded offering includes a tall double with an integrated footrest, a mini double ergonomically scaled for K–5 education environments and a distinctive wedge double that introduces new geometries and interpersonal postures. Together, these additions extend the system’s ability to accommodate a wider range of scales, settings and modes of interaction.

The wedge double is a defining addition. Its angled form introduces a subtle shift in orientation, allowing users to engage with both the surrounding environment and one another. This geometric move opens up new configuration possibilities, from staggered runs, faceted arcs and radial arrangements to more enclosed social settings, enabling designers to shape how people come together in space.

The tall double supports more casual, standing-height interaction, suited to quick meetings, informal collaboration and transitional moments within a site. The mini double brings the Take-Out design language to younger users, supporting outdoor classrooms, schoolyards and multi-age campus environments with proportions tailored for comfort and usability.

As Torres explains, “Design can gently guide relationships. The shape of an object can influence how people connect, communicate and share space. With the wedge piece, a small break in the shape invites two people who might normally face the street to also turn toward one another.”

Across the expanded line, Take-Out maintains its emphasis on adaptability. A family of silhouettes including singles, doubles, triples and wheelchair-accessible configurations can be arranged side-by-side, face-to-face or in more complex compositions depending on site needs. New color-matched connector brackets allow adjacent units to be secured into stable configurations, while a semi-circular umbrella opening creates a full shade solution when paired.

Constructed from sheet metal tops and extruded aluminum verticals, Take-Out combines durability with a visually light, approachable presence. Gently curved edges enhance comfort, while a robust powdercoat finish ensures long-term performance in high-use outdoor environments.

With its expanded range of forms and configurations, Take-Out continues to position seating as an active tool in shaping outdoor experience, supporting evolving patterns of connection, learning and social life in the public realm.
