In 2028, the Estonian Association of Landscape Architects (EMAL) will celebrate 25 years since its founding. To celebrate this, the association is planning the largest landscape architecture exhibition to date in the Great Hall of the Estonian Museum of Architecture from January to April 2028. The exhibition is both an EMAL anniversary event and a broader public education and communication project that introduces developments and future directions in Estonian landscape architecture.
The aim of the curatorial competition is to find a professional curator or a collective of curators who will create a conceptual framework, a spatial-experiential solution, and a substantive, visually cohesive whole for the exhibition. All interested parties with experience in landscape architecture, architecture, art, or landscape architecture history are welcome to participate. At least one team member must be a landscape architect with a professional certificate.
The deadline for submitting designs is August 17. The winning entries will be selected by a jury. The prize fund is €4,500. The winner will be announced in September 2026.
