One Beverly Hills recently broke ground on the 17.5-acre urban destination that will connect the iconic Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria with 10 acres of botanical gardens & open space and will introduce the first Aman hotel, branded residences, and exclusive members club to North America’s West Coast.
Master planned by globally renowned architecture firm Foster + Partners, with Aman designs by KHA (Kerry Hill Architects), One Beverly Hills will showcase a distinct and cohesive design narrative reflective of the city’s vibrant layers and storied history. RIOS is the landscape architect and has curated over 200 species of California native and water-wise plants and trees, including palms, oaks, sycamores, succulents and olives, to be integrated throughout the gardens; four acres of which will be exclusively for Aman residents, club members and hotel guests, another four and a half acres will be open to the public.
“One Beverly Hills transforms a formerly dormant space into a signature botanical haven that embraces wellness and Southern California’s horticultural legacy through unique garden moments. From the essence of living with nature vertically to the harmonious and intertwined lessons in climate adaption and urban ecology, this visionary destination will redefine the possibility of sanctuary in an urban environment.”
Katherine Harvey – Partner and Creative Director at RIOS
The Beverly Hilton will undergo restoration with significant upgrades as part of the master plan, integrating designs that pay homage to its legacy and will further cement its position as the city’s premier venue for decades to come.
The project will bring more than 2,700 direct construction jobs to the region. Turner Construction Company will lead the overall site management of the One Beverly Hills mixed-use development. Along with Cain Development and OKO Group, Turner will oversee construction contracting opportunities and provide educational outreach and engagement services to aid diverse businesses and local job seekers in preparation for work opportunities on the project site.
