Parking Day 2010

Parking Day occurred last Friday with participation from variety of groups, schools, companies and groups across the world. Landscape architecture firms and schools did their part to try and make a difference in their cities. We thought it would be good to summarise some of the activities so you can get ready for 2011 Parking Day. Some where green with plants and others where green by using recycled materials.

Studio Architecture and SWA Group – San Francisco

Baltimore Brew – Floura Teeter Landscape Architects, created a parking site on Franklin Street

ABC News – 10 SUNY ESF spots across Syracuse

The Newshouse – SUNY-ESF landscape architecture students join more than 20 other Syracuse residents in the PARK(ing) Day initiative.

Cornell Daily Sun – Landscape Architecture Students Educate Public About Urban Green Spaces

East Valley Tribune – Arizona State University created miniature parks in the metered parking spaces that line downtown Tempe’s main drag.
University of Minnesota – Landscape Architecture students participate in PARK(ing) Day
