Kimbell Art Museum reveals $70 million Renzo Piano expansion designs – Fort Worth Business Press

Fort Worth Buiness Press reports

“After a year and half of discussion and planning, Fort Worth’s Kimbell Art Museum on Nov. 18 unveiled preliminary plans for a new $70 million neighboring building designed by Italian architectural giant Renzo Piano and funded by the Kimbell Art Foundation.

Piano said only about 20 percent of the existing lawn will be incorporated into a sweeping berm that will shield the roof from the western sun and insulate the walls. Piano said he is working closely with landscape architect Pond & Co. of Atlanta.”
