WxLA calling for scholarship applications

WxLA is calling for applications (early to mid-career) for the WxLA Scholarship, an award that provides a stipend for registration, housing and airfares to attend the 2022 ASLA Conference of Landscape Architecture to be held in San Francisco on November 11-14.

Founded in 2019 by a group of landscape architects and planners — Gina Ford, FASLA; Steven Spears, FASLA; Jamie Maslyn Larson, FASLA; Cinda Gilliland, ASLA; and Rebecca Leonard, FAICP — WxLA is an advocacy initiative for gender justice in the field of landscape architecture.

Raising over $55,000 in three years, the award-winning organization sent a total of twenty-seven emerging professionals to the Conference on Landscape Architecture in 2019, 2020 and 2021. This year, WxLA is back, offering scholarships to a new group of emerging leaders so they can attend the Conference on Landscape Architecture in San Francisco.

WxLA states that the purpose of the scholarship is to aid in the “professional development and success of young and emerging leaders” and intends to promote gender justice and help level the playing field for designers of underrepresented genders in the profession. Applications are due August 31. Find out more about the scholarship at https://www.wxlandscape.org/initiatives

Please contact the WxLA with any questions relating to the scholarship
