WLA is happy to welcome Grain Collective as a new WLA Partner. Our partners and sponsors assist WLA in continuing to publish projects, news, competitions from around the world. Without their assistance we would not be able to continue to provide a free service to the landscape architecture profession and students. We are therefore grateful for their support of WLA.

Grain Collective is a landscape architecture and urban design practice dedicated to a rich design and planning process that incorporates research and collaboration from varied professionals and stakeholders to create successful, aesthetically pleasing and experientially diverse environments.

The essence of Grain Collective’s philosophy is based on the belief that habitats should be dynamic, inviting and inclusive, allow for various activities as well as ensure a rich diversity of experiences. These experiential narratives are influenced not only by the physical site but the people that inhabit it and the broader, dynamic nature of the city and region in which they are located. Informed by the specifics of history, culture, and social diversity, they seek to craft unique solutions that are inspired by the spirit of a place and the users that shape it. Their belief has been enriched and informed by our experience and knowledge gained from living and working in different cities and countries across the world.

Through a robust commitment to empower, engage, and activate local communities in shaping their social and ecological environments, Grain Collective actively seeks out opportunities for participatory planning and design. With broad experience working in New York City and with a number of NYC agencies and local community groups, they have a clear sense of the many complexities that must be unraveled and decoded for any project. Grain Collective believes in the value of collaborative work, both within our team, and with the clients. They cultivate robust relationships with our partners and clients, developing their ideas into tangible, successful projects. Grain Collective is a certified by New York State as well as New York City as minority business enterprise.
