Job Overview:

We are looking for talented, creative, dynamic and experienced Senior Landscape Architects and Landscape Architects to join our new Cracknell Europe Office, located in Lugano, Switzerland.  The role will be responsible for interacting with a multi-disciplinary project team to deliver a number of landscape projects under the direct guidance of senior staff.

SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Primary Activities:

  • Manage multiple small to medium-sized landscape design projects successfully from concept to construction, coordinating all stages and all aspects of a project.
  • Working as part of small to medium size project teams, with varying degrees of responsibilities depending on the nature of specific projects.
  • Organise day-to-day design, production, and documentation works and coordinate the contract administration of the projects.
  • Coordinate the internal design process, and documentation by interacting with other disciplines, e.g., Architects, Graphic Artists, Designers, Engineers, Lighting designers and Horticulturists, etc.
  • Interact and coordinate with clients, stakeholders and consultants; prepare reports and presentations and attend meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and required approvals are obtained during design development and drawing and documentation production.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with technical and contractual terms of the project contract.
  • Assist as required with post-tender contract administration stage, coordinating with contractors and clients’ representatives.

Technical Competencies:

  • Manage multiple landscape design projects of varying complexity, size and value.
  • Lead project architects and designers to create functional, sustainable and manageable landscapes.
  • Review and coordinate with project work performed by other engineers/disciplines.
  • Reading, writing and interpretation of technical drawings and documentation, specifications, reports, proposals, contracts and tender documents.
  • Demonstrate excellent software skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office. Knowledge of Sketch-Up, Lumion, Revit, Rhino is an added advantage.

Management and Corporate Competencies:

Position Requirements:

  • University Degree – Post Graduation or equivalent – in landscape architecture or architecture
  • CMLI or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience on sizeable landscape design projects
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English (required) and Italian (preferred). Other languages skills will be an advantage.
  • Have the rights to live and work within the Schengen Area

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Primary Activities

  • Work closely with senior designers to develop the design from concept to schematic, and detail design development for the allocated project(s).
  • Develop the design and presentation materials by sketching and 3D modelling to Cracknell expected standards and in line with our clients’ requirements and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the graphics artists team on the production of CGI presentation materials for the allocated project(s).
  • Have a good understanding to effectively develop the project details and work closely with the BIM and CAD team for detailed design works and technical drawings.
  • Coordinate the internal design process, and documentation by interacting with other disciplines, e.g., Architects, Graphic Artists, Designers, Engineers, Lighting designers and Horticulturists, etc.

Technical Competencies

  • Apply professional knowledge and experience to design landscape architecture projects of varying levels of complexity.
  • Use professional knowledge combined with artistic and creative abilities to create functional, sustainable and manageable landscape designs.
  • Develop technical communication including technical drawings and documentation, specifications, reports, proposals, contracts and tender documents.
  • A high proficiency in software skills including use of AutoCAD, 3D modelling, Lumion, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Understanding and experience in using BIM related technologies (such as REVIT) in Landscape Architecture would be a significant advantage. 

Position Requirements:
