The master plan at Tall Trees Residential Community is designed to offer more than just the conventional open spaces. Located near Ahmedabad, a thriving metropolis in western India, the development is envisaged to bring pause and reflection into the busy urban lives through a unique, immersive residential community that connects people to nature—and to each other—in meaningful ways. Spanning 150 acres, the masterplan explores the idea of an organic development that flows throughout the site, with blues & greens. Situated in the vicinity of Thol Bird Sanctuary, a Ramsar site, the site is characterised by a unique terrain, which naturally collects water in several low-lying areas, forming lakes & seasonal water bodies. The design integrates the existing lake and seasonal waterbodies into the continuous greens that run along the spine of the development, celebrating them by creating thematic landscaping pockets that introduce delightful surprises. The central road acts as a spine, offering residents and visitors a memorable experience of scenic views and curated landscapes on both sides.

Along the primary driveway, natural water bodies are introduced, complete with riparian edges that mimic native ecosystems. A central lake is also planned to serve as the community’s breathing space, offering both ecological and recreational benefits.

A high-tension electric line traverses the site, and its integration into the design has been carefully addressed. In accordance with statutory guidelines, the corridor beneath the transmission line has been incorporated into the open space network, ensuring safe distances from residential plots while contributing meaningfully to the site’s spatial structure.

The plotting and programming are done so that each residential plot has access to the common greens, which are designed with different regional themes. These thematic gardens form a ribbon of open spaces that extend the greens of the plots, offering an extended experience. The gardens draw inspiration from diverse garden typologies, featuring Greek, Japanese, Egyptian, Turkish, and French styles—each adding a unique aesthetic and sensory experience to the community landscape.

The water edges are planned as resilient edges with native plantings, walking trails, and ample pause points that offer respite from the busy urban life, utilising the existing terrain & trees to create seating niches and experiential landscapes. These water features enhance the development’s appeal, offering gardens, green pockets with serene views, and recreational opportunities like boating and lakeside walks. Complemented by the adjacent canal, which runs west of the community development, creates a harmonious blend of natural beauty and modern living, with green spaces and walking trails.
