A rejuvenated historic part of Brisbane through the creation of active city laneways around the new tower at 80 Ann Street, where the practice also designed a series of internal spaces that complement the transformation of the surrounding streetscape.
Reid Park Reimagined addresses extreme heat and resiliency in Tucson
The master plan for Gene C. Reid Park (Reid Park) in Tucson, completed by Sasaki in November 2022, has moved into its first phase. Informed by a year-long, bilingual public engagement process, the plan will weave heat and flood mitigation strategies throughout the park’s beloved community gathering spaces, adding new resilient infrastructure and recreational attractions, including a new interactive water feature.
Palm Springs Downtown Park | RIOS
Palm Springs Downtown Park is an inviting 1.5-acre urban oasis for residents and visitors of Palm Springs, a design-forward desert destination nestled along the base of the San Jacinto Mountains in California’s Sonoran Desert. Located in the ancestral homeland of the Agua Caliente band of the Cahuilla people and on the historic site of the famed Nellie Coffman’s sanitorium turned resort.
Sanlin InCity Mall | Shanghai, China | Hassell
By reviving a local retail development that was on the decline, Hassell gave Shanghai’s Sanlin neighbourhood more than a new mall. They created a new social hub, lifestyle destination and community heart.
Landscape for B Safal House | Ahmedabad, India
The project is an attempt to redefine workspace landscape design. It is conceptualized around the Monolithic building of B Safal House. The building, with an expression of simplicity and modernity, sits on a plinth, creating a sense of stranding strong on an immovable base.
A Floating Forest: Fish Tail Park in Nanchang City | Turenscape
Fish Tail Park is in the city of Nanchang, within the Yangtze River floodplain in east-central China. Turenscape transformed a badly abused 126-acre landscape into a dreamlike floating forest that regulates stormwater, provides habitat for wildlife, offers an array of recreational opportunities, and gives local residents a new way to connect with nature. All of this has lent a unique identity to the New District, serving as a catalyst for urban development in the surrounding area.
