“What does the city of mountain and sea want?” That was the design team’s question when we came to Zhoushan Islands. In addition, the designers face another question: what will the community be like in the future? What will future life be like with the regional characteristics of the sea and island?
Gemdale · Shanhai Future City is located in Dinghai, the head of Zhoushan Islands, facing the seasonal sea breeze along the cross-sea bridge; the views are drawn to the depths of the sea by the mountains. With the yearning for seasonal seafood, towards the junction of mountains and seas.
In the in-depth visit, the design team learned some local characteristics. Most of the young people go out to develop, and the permanent residents are mainly the elderly and children. Their living radius is small, prefer a lively and stable environment, and yearn for an unfettered space. The sun, the sea, give them frank and bold character. Back to the sea, many people have an indissociable relationship with fishing, and the unique life scenes of fishermen have become unforgettable memories.
The designers try to combine the local natural landscape and people’s living habits. As the base, Zhoushan islands water feature of natural flow, the beach, green island and reef beach, forest, beaches Zhoushan natural landscape images into the field, through the modern design language, with a city future life picture, build a regional cultural imprint of human settlement in the future.
The entrance to the park is a way of introducing the canyon to open the journey of a better life in the future community. The clean and pure lines form a visual guide, which starts the journey of childhood. Go through the canyon entrance to the Green Island boardwalk and the secret reef, where you can interact closely with nature. We use miniature techniques to show the scene of waves lapping on the reef, creating it as a “place” with an emotional connection. The sound of running water and children playing make it a place that combines nature images, healing activities, and park experiences.
The greenfield party in the core area is a fun scene shared by the whole generation. To create a family playground and a new social gathering point for all ages, to turn the site into a space for stay, rest, play, interaction, and recycling, connecting the beautiful life picture and activating the whole area.
