Fuzhou Lanyuan Luxury Residences Sales Area is a 5,000 square meter portion of a landmark residential development situated in the heart of Fuzhou. The development fuses contemporary sophistication and cultural sensitivity. This entry area welcomes guests and sets the tone for a garden journey to the sales units. The design process was driven by three strategies: to create a unique identity inspired by the local context; to activate different scales of open spaces; and to connect the site through a flow of experiences.
The landscape of the Sales Area Entry Courtyard layers carefully studied experiences that transport visitors to intimate yet impressive environments. A sense of comfort comes from an approach to space rooted in traditional Chinese Gardens. The spaces were carefully curated to provide a series of landscape discoveries through three unique scenes.
The grand yet delicate Arrival Garden with clean lines, water elements, art, and a visual corridor elevates the connection to nature by allowing river and mountains views into the site. The Arrival Tree Bosque framed by a series of walls and vegetation signals visitors to slow down and focus on the moon gate giving a glimpse of the next phase in the journey. The Iconic Pavilion house is a metaphor for spring and is meant to embody a feeling of abundance. The contemporary lines of the pavilion walls carefully capture the harmony of nature from the surrounding landscapes.
Numerous existing trees have been preserved and complemented by layers of local trees, shrubs, and groundcovers meant to amplify local flora experiences. Sponge city measures have been applied to minimize impact on the natural riverfront environment and maintain the natural water cycle. Wind conditions and sun exposure have been carefully studied to maintain comfort as well as prevent the heat island effect in an urbanized southern China environment.
