Eden Garden at Paradise Beach

The Eden Garden at Paradise Beach is a terraced beachfront landscape designed to reflect the island’s climate, terrain, and coastal conditions. Set on a sloping site overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the garden is built around a series of hand-laid volcanic stone terraces. These dry-stacked walls define outdoor spaces, control erosion, and provide a strong foundation for layered planting throughout the site.

More than 50 tropical plant species are featured across the garden. Fruit trees such as banana, papaya, guava, calabash, and pineapple are planted alongside herbs like rosemary, mint, and lemongrass. Larger plants, including silver buttonwood, areca palms, cordyline, and birds of paradise, offer structure and color. Groundcovers like coral creeper, Boston ferns, cardboard palms, dune flower, and fountain grass fill in the lower levels, softening edges and helping stabilize the soil.

Three secluded seating areas are integrated into the terraced layout, offering guests and families quiet places to relax and connect. One is nestled among fruit trees and herbs, shaded and surrounded by dense planting. Another is framed by tall palms and flowering plants, providing a peaceful retreat within the slope. The third space is more open but still private, enclosed by lush vegetation and softened with groundcovers underfoot. Natural screening, elevation changes, and layered plantings create a sense of comfort and separation in each space.

The design balances beauty and function, creating a space that is both lush and low-maintenance. The garden offers privacy, shade, and seasonal interest while enhancing the overall resort experience. Local materials and construction techniques were used throughout, giving the garden a natural, site-specific feel.

Eden Garden blends craftsmanship, tropical planting, and coastal resilience to create a vibrant, welcoming space that fits seamlessly into its island setting.
