De Paauw architecture works lies in the intersection between urban planning, landscape architecture and the built environment. Its projects aim to mitigate the effects of climate change as well as provide resilient responses to its causes. With a clear environmentalist perspective, from landscape architecture and urban regeneration it explores the rebalancing between nature and anthropization so that cities can reach the level of habitability and health.
Robert de Paauw, architect, urban planner and landscape designer is the founding partner of DE PAAUW ARCHITECTURE, an international studio based in Barcelona and São Paulo that has carried out projects in Europe, Latin America and China.
Among the awards received he has the 2021 Prize of Urbanism, Urban Planning and City of the IAB-Institute of Architects of Brazil by the proposal of Park of the city of Bethlehem in Pará; the 2019 City and Landscape FAD Award for the Prat de Llobregat Maritime Promenade or the 2012 ex acquo European Public Space Award for the Restoration of Turó de la Rovira anti-aircraft batteries in Barcelona.
Some of the projects have been selected to be exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2016 and 2018 in the pavilions of Spain and Brazil respectively.
Associate Professor of the Department of Urbanism and Spatial Planning DUOT at the Barcelona School of Architecture E.T.S.A.B., Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya U.P.C. He has also been a professor of landscape architecture at the Escola da Cidade de São Paulo. He is a regular guest at national and foreign universities.
In his career, has won numerous public tenders such as the Crossroads and the Future of Road Infrastructure in the Llobregat Delta in Barcelona convened by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area or the Expo City China Railway Northeast Asia International in Changchun, China, both in 2021.
The projects have been published in books and journals in the sector.
