Following MNLA’s successful landscape design on the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts campus in Manhattan, the firm was brought on to realize improvements to the adjacent Damrosch Park. The project had to balance a number of competing interests including multiple clients and community stakeholders, respect for the mid-century modern composition, and a multitude of diverse events held throughout the year. The defining site structures are retained and planted with respect for the original composition of framing and punctuation. Once again, the park is a lively venue for locals and visitors alike who can visit to enjoy a quiet lunch break or evening concert.
