AILA Announces National Archive/History Project

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has recently announced the formal commencement of the AILA National Archive/History Project. This project aims to collect, preserve and share the legacy of landscape architecture in Australia to increase scholarship, interpretation, exhibition, protection and participation.

The project’s Working Group is comprised of members from across the respective AILA Chapters, including: Catherin Bull (QLD); Verity Campbell (AILA Administration); Tony Cox (NT); Jerry de Gryse (Tas); Graeme Hopkins (SA); Annabel Murray (NSW); Julian Raxworthy (ACT); Grant Revell (WA); and Andrew Saniga (Vic).

The project will explore and define how the AILA Archive could suitably relate to larger digital and public history projects nationally and internationally, opening Australian landscape architecture to new audiences and better supporting relationships within and between allied archives, museums, disciplines, and related communities.
