Winner of an Honour Award in the 2022 WLA Awards in the Built – Commercial Residential category
Longfor Chunjiang Central is located in the core area of Binjiang New Town, Changsha, Hunan Province, China, which is a new metropolitan center, surrounded by communities with convenient transportation and numerous commercial complexes. The project intends to create a unique and comfortable community and promote a natural and ecological lifestyle.
A welcoming axis of returning home, a shared lawn theater, and a full-age interactive parent-child paradise show a new type of community full of “the warmth of living”. A community space is formed from the outside to the inside, where “people” play a leading role in community life. The needs of individuals and social groups are concerned. The 6,000-square-meter sunshine lawn and the 300-square-meter multi-functional living room meet all needs of activities such as family and friends’ gatherings, and parent-children interaction.
Children play games here as if in nature. Running, climbing, overlooking, sliding, digging sand, painting, they can enjoy themselves leisurely.
A comfortable and healing space was built with plants. The 1500 Metasequoia trees and Nephrolepis auriculata formed a small ecological circle. The 50-year-old Osmanthus tree was found; the natural waterfront built a panoramic platform. Together create a healthy landscape community with a microclimate.
Introducing the pure landscape environment into the community allows residents to have intimate contact with nature by the way of public sharing and create a poetic living community space.
The design is inspired by Manhattan’s Central Park, with the vision of a modern community landscape of “prosperous outside, and tranquil inside”, to create a modern residential space with high-rise buildings outside and lush hills inside. The extreme collision and combination of prosperity and tranquillity provide a more comfortable lifestyle for the residents of the community.
