2025 WLA Student Awards will launch June 17

This year, the built and conceptual categories have changed, and we also welcome back The Cultural Landscape Foundation in partnering for the Cultural Landscape Awards with two categories.

The World Landscape Architecture (WLA) Awards are a prestigious global awards program celebrating excellence, innovation and sustainability in landscape architecture. Organized annually, the awards showcase outstanding projects demonstrating exceptional creativity, sustainability, and environmental impact. The WLA awards highlight the diverse range of landscapes, from urban parks and public spaces to residential gardens and ecological restoration projects, fostering a sense of community and connection with nature.

Eligibility

Landscape architects, urban design and architecture firms, and individual landscape architects can enter the Professional Awards. Organisations and companies (non-profit, non-government, government, charities) may also enter landscape architecture projects on behalf of the designer.

Projects eligible for entry in the 2025 WLA Awards must be a concept or built project during 2020-2025.

Projects that have previously won a WLA Award (Award of Excellence, Merit or Honour Award) cannot be submitted. Any previously shortlisted (finalist) entries can be entered in this year’s WLA Awards if they meet the eligibility criteria. Projects that have won other awards (ASLA, IFLA, CSLA, HKILA, SILA, AILA, WAF, Dezeen, etc.) are eligible to be entered.

Awards

Built and Conceptual categoriesAward of Excellence (1 per category) – WLA Award Trophy; Outstanding Award (up to 2 per category) – WLA Award Certificate; Honourable Mention (up to 2 per category) – WLA Award Certificate;
TCLF Cultural Landscape Awards and Editors Award category – WLA Award Trophy;
Finalists – WLA Award Certificate;

All award winners will be published on WLA.

Awards Submission Requirements

The Awards submission should include the following:

  • Submissions must be in English
  • Five (5) pages pdf (A3 format – landscape orientation) using the WLA Awards template will only be accepted. It should have text, images and a plan and be in pdf format with a file name as per the Entry Guide.
  • Do not change the font, font style or font size in the template for any text including the footer
  • No company or designer names or recognisable graphics/logos within the text or images. This should be include in the Submissions Email.
  • Awards submission pdf shall be less than 10Mb in pdf format. The pdf file only needs to be screen resolution (96 dpi) for juries to review.
  • The WLA Awards Declaration form shall be completed and submitted in pdf format.
  • Include one image (minimum 1200 pixels wide at 150 dpi in jpg format) that best represents your entry. This will be used for the finalist list and promotions.

The Awards submission should be emailed to awards@worldlandscapearchitect.com by the deadline following the Submissions Email section as described in the Entry Guide.

Registration Entry Fees

Professional Award Categories Registration Fee – $250AUD (approx.$160USD, €155EUR, £135, 1150CNY)
You are not required to be a WLA member to enter the 2025 Awards.

Shortlist will be announced in July.
