New Symbiotic System – Revitalization of Tai O is in response to the decline of Tai O’s pillar industry: Agriculture and Aquaculture. It especially focuses on the trend of increasing outflow of younger generation and that wetland value is going to take over Tai O’s cultural value, historical value and spiritual value.

“Kai Tak Fantasy” International Ideas Competition launched

The Kai Tak Fantasy (KTF) International Ideas Competition on Urban Planning and Design organised by the Energizing Kowloon East Office (EKEO) of the Development Bureau was launched on November 28.  KTF comprises three major elements, namely the Kai Tak Runway Tip in the Kai Tak Development, the Kwun Tong Ferry Pier Action Area, and the water body in between, which involve a total area of about 90 hectares. Speaking at the launch ceremony today, the Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, said that KTF not only has the potential to be developed into a world class tourism and entertainment hub, but could also inspire arts, culture and creativity in the region.

Meyer + Silberberg Land Architects was one of three invited firms to participate in the international design competition for a new country park. The 8,900 acre site, located on the Huangpu River in Songjiang District southwest of Shanghai, is one of five sites that the Shanghai government plans to preserve and convert to “Country Parks” as part of an initiative to create a necklace of natural parks and curb development around the rapidly growing city.

Ceramic Museum & Mosaic Park | Jinzhou China | Casanova + Hernandez Architects

The urban extension of Jinzhou, a city of three million inhabitants located less than 500 kilometres north-east of Beijing, has been articulated by the creation of a new large public park of 176 Ha in an area reclaimed from the sea. During a first phase, the park hosts the 2013 Jinzhou World Landscape Art Exposition and once the Expo is closed, the area will become the central park of a new urban development.
