On the Benthemsquare a first water square will be realized. It took us almost seven years from the idea and concept, to typologies, to policy, to spatial design. Already well published as a concept, in 2011 we finally got to design and refine a real pilot on the Benthemsquare in Rotterdam.

Stormwater is important part of any landscape and even more so in cities. Cities are striving to understand water and stormwater management and implement water sustainable design principles. Curtin University has embarked on a massive urban renewal project focused on creating a knowledge city in Perth Western Australia. Code-named Curtin City the project will deliver a new population of students, researchers and residents of up to 70,000 people living and working in Perth’s newest knowledge economy. Connected to the city by the MAX light rail transit, Curtin City will be only minutes from downtown Perth enabling the rapid exchange of business and research ideas.
