Vauxhall Missing Link Shortlist announced

RIBA Vauxhall The Missing Link Design Competition received 100 Entries from 21 countries all over the world. Architects and Landscape Designers worldwide were asked to put their ‘High Line – High Level Thinking Caps on!’ to design the Public Realm and they did not disappoint.

The shortlisted teams in the professional category are:

Cedric Chausse & Charlotte Portier, London
Blank Architects, Moscow

Highly Commended were:
Irene Iacolino, Diego Astuto, Daniela Landi & Luigi Rapicavoli, London
Arkilab APS, Denmark
Igor Marko and Francis Moss, Marko & Placemakers, London

The winner of the student category is:
Frances Kellerman, Jeffrey Ziemann, Taylor Massey & Lauren Richter, University of Texas – Austin

Highly Commended in the student category were:

Amy Collinson, Landscape Architecture, University of Sheffield
Charleen Chae, Drew Finke & Julie Huynh, University of Texas – Austin
Anders Petersen, Aglaia Tsigka, Aniekan Usoro, Yuan Hou, Bin Xia and Chien Ling Cheong, CURe at the School of Architecture, University of Portsmouth

The Judging Panel, which included Doreen Lawrence of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, met to select the shortlist which was presented at a press briefing hosted by Angela Brady, RIBA President and Dan Pearson, the Award winning landscape designer.

The shortlisted will now be invited to meet with the client and discuss their design proposal in more detail and a winner will be selected at the end of May 2013. The shortlisted designs are on exhibition at the Garden Museum, Lambeth Palace Road, London, SE1 7LB and on an Outdoor Trail through the Rail Arches and Parks of Vauxhall until 19th April 2013, 10am – 5pm.
