Qetaifan Island

The vision for Qetaifan Island North Linear Park is to create a linear park that provides a unique destination, a habitat and green space where people can relax and enjoy and a place where they can celebrate and connect to the water. Water is important to the culture of Qatar; it is the source of life for generations. It is our aim to highlight the rich Qatar culture and how the sea became an integral part of everyday life. Further, our aim is to provide a landscape and public realm that is universal and transcends all nationalities and most importantly, caters to all age groups.

Lifestyle

The landscape and public realm will be a representation of an ‘Island Living’ offering human-centric and high-quality amenity areas. The Linear Park will be the focal point linking all the public open spaces of the island. It provides landscape amenities and features such as family areas, private gathering spaces, children’s play areas, sports and outdoor exercise areas, edutainment, retail, and dining experience. The landscape will promote connected, comfortable, and shaded pedestrian walkways linking the whole site, as well as provide seamless networks of cycling and jogging tracks to encourage fitness, health, and physical well-being. Water activities is also a key feature of the landscape promoting the culture and lifestyle of Qatar.

Inspiration

Qatar is a country linked to the Sea. Its coasts, beaches, waterfronts, inland seas, and mangrove forests are unique in the world – marine life is rich and bountiful, nourishing the country and its people. The overall design and theme of the landscape and public realm are inspired by the natural forms of the sea and marine life as well as the cultural expressions and representations of Qatar.
