Landscape Forms has expanded its acclaimed Link modular seating system with the introduction of Link Rail, a lighting- and power-integrated standing-height rail developed in collaboration with designer Jess Sorel.

Responding to the increasingly fluid ways outdoor spaces are used—where coffee breaks become working sessions and casual conversations stretch into longer stays—Link Rail translates the original system’s formal language into elevated, bar- and leaning-height applications. “Raising Link to standing height taps into the same DNA as the original—only lighter in attitude and tuned to different postures,” says Sorel. “It quietly sketches space—bending around objects, defining nooks and corners, guiding movement—while inviting people to lean, perch or pull up a stool.”

Link Rail launches in two adaptable expressions: a perch-friendly rail top and a deeper bar top. Both are available with either inline wood surfaces for crisp rectilinear runs or piano-key tops that support straight, arced, circular and serpentine compositions. The modular palette of straight, 90°, 45° and radiused elements allows designers to achieve configurations that might otherwise require custom fabrication while maintaining the efficiencies of a standardized system.

“Link’s popularity over the last five years made the next step obvious—raise the system,” says Ryan Heiser, Director of Design at Landscape Forms. “With straights, 90s, 45s and radiused pieces, Link Rail lets you do what many would otherwise approach as fully custom—but it stays easy to configure. It can define space, act as a border or serve as bar-height tabletops.”

Compatible with Landscape Forms’ Illumination & Power Kit, Link Rail integrates low-level LED ambient lighting and power access directly into the rail, supporting device charging and extending usability after dark. Optional backstops introduce directionality, while discreet under-rail hooks accommodate bags and personal items—details that reinforce comfort in casual standing and leaning postures.

Material options include responsibly sourced dassoXTR Fused Bamboo®, Kebony Dually Modified™ Wood and thermally modified ash, paired with powdercoated steel supports and an integrated footrest. The result is a system that balances tactile warmth with durability and long-term performance.

Rooted in Link’s ethos of spatial fluency, Link Rail remains visually restrained yet functionally decisive, capable of delineating edges, activating thresholds and shaping outdoor rooms at standing height. Designed and manufactured in the USA, it extends the original system’s promise: the creative freedom and tailored feel of custom work delivered through the clarity and value of a modular standard.
