WxLA Scholarship | Call for Nominations

The purpose of this award is to aid in the professional development and success of young and emerging leaders in our profession by covering the costs associated with attendance at the virtual Conference on Landscape Architecture.

2019 WxLA Scholarship Celebration in San Diego

“The 2020 ASLA Virtual Event will offer numerous educational opportunities, allowing attendees to fulfill their professional development requirements and network with engaged and diverse professionals from all over the world. The 2020 event will be held online due to COVID concerns.”

The Award
The award will cover the cost of full registration for the conference. To enhance the online Conference program and give VIP access to this year’s Scholars, we will offer a special curated WxLA experience with an emphasis on leadership, inspiration and mentorship.

Eligibility
Nominees must be early to mid-career (in first five years of practice) who do not have access or support to attend the conference otherwise. Thescholarship intends to promote gender justice and help level the playing field for women in the profession. As such, preference will be given to female candidates (including non-binary and transgendered female candidates).

Nominations
Nominators are encouraged to submit the name of a colleague or self-nominate. Nominations must be received by August 15, 2020.

Please provide the following for nominees on one 8-1/2×11 page, pdf-format:

  • Full name, email address and phone number
  • About this Nominee – Provide an overview of the nominee’s background, education and professional experience (150 words)
  • Why this Nominee? – Describe how this nominee exhibits leadership and why they will benefit from the experience of the Conference (200 words)
