professors aim to fix that problem with their design for a high-efficiencyefficient turbine that can generate electricity from the much-slower wind speeds in urban areas.

The device, which professors Hamid Rahai and Hamid Hefazi recently patented, could use the wind energy along beaches, near freeways or on top of buildings, street lights or billboards to generate power for urban use.
