Vancouver buys building, first of 12 planned sites – globeandmail.com

The city of Vancouver has purchased a two-storey building at 514 Alexander Street for approximately $860,000, and the 20 single-occupancy units currently on the property will be upgraded to provide supportive housing.

This comes on the heels of last week’s approval of 12 city-owned sites for social housing.
