
April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM), a time for the landscape architecture profession to celebrate their impactful work and inspire everyone from clients to consultants, students, and the public through education and advocacy.
Here are a few tips and ideas for celebrating WLAM:
- Set up a public meet and greets or tours for one of your projects to educate the public about the project and the profession.
- Ask your city or clients if you can put up “Designed by a Landscape Architect” signs in your project.
- Hold events such as an open house, a lunch & learn, or friday night catchup at your firm or university and invite the allied professionals, government, and surrounding businesses to provide insights into what landscape architects do.
- Visit a local school or university and have a workshop or presentation on what landscape architects do.
- Send an email to your government official about the importance and role of landscape architecture in cities and addressing issues such as climate change, health and well-being, air pollution, etc.
- Submit an article to your local newspaper or blog about how landscape architects could help with a key issue in your city or area.

- Organise an event and invite allied professionals, non-profits, and government to discuss global and local issues and how to partner together to address them.
- Hashtag your images on social media with #WLAM2025 and #landscapearchitecture and tag WLA @worldlandscapearch on Instagram and other social media platforms (linkedin, facebook, rednote,
- Follow your landscape architecture profession organisation on instagram and share, like and comment on their posts. You can find ASLA, AILA, CSLA/AAPC, Landscape Institute, HKILA, etc all on instagram.
- Follow ASLA on instagram for daily prompts to held you generate ideas for social media posts
World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM) is a great opportunity to educate and invigorate you, your team and have fun.
