In 2021 the World Landscape Architecture Awards were split into the Professional and Student Awards with over 400 high-quality entries received the juries had a very hard time scoring and finalising the winners for this year.
Submissions for the Student Awards came from numerous landscape architecture programs worldwide, including some of the highest-ranking landscape architecture programs. The jury felt that the submissions were of high quality, addressing various global issues and design problems. The jury had a hard time scoring the entries as many of the submissions included rigorous analysis and well-thought-out sensitive designs.

Judging Process
The jury was able to award Awards of Excellence, Merit Awards and Honourable Mentions. The juries did not award all the available awards in each category. Their scoring and awarding were based on the number of entries and quality of the entries shortlisted. Jurors recuse (didn’t provide a score) themselves if they had a conflict of interest or the student was from their school. In this instance, an average score from the other jurors was used to calculate the total score.
The jury selected the final awards based on select criteria for each category and awarded the above list based on the scoring, quality and number of entries per category. The above list is the final awards, there will be no additional awards.
