Napa Valley Winery Site Inspired by Japanese Aesthetic Kenzo Winery, located in the hilltops of southern Napa Valley in California, is a high-end private winery nestled within a larger,
4,000-acre estate. The ecological framework of Napa Valley focuses on maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty of the landscape, whileallowing local residents and visitors the ability to enjoy the area and experience the culture of wine making.

Designed by SWA, the winery site, as well as a new entry and entry road, will be used during further expansion of the estate. Based on the ecological and infrastructural needs of the site, the sequence of the visitor experience to the winery and tasting room is central to SWA’s design efforts. The aesthetic of the winery draws from the minimalist inclinations of the Japanese client, while respecting the character of the native environment. SWA’s design transitions seamlessly between road networks, rows of vines clustered throughout the site, and the manicured (gardens) of the main winery building, which ultimately allows for the expansion and preservation of the estate well into the future.
