Maglin’s MUG Collection brings modern sophistication to street furniture design

A collaboration with Gibillero Design, MUG bike racks, receptacles, and planters deliver on charm and durability in shared outdoor spaces.

Everyday public space amenities are often overlooked and unnoticed amid the bustle of city living. With this new collection, Maglin offers distinctive and modern site furniture pieces that stand out for their aesthetic features while performing to the high expectations of amenities in the public realm.

MUG Collection

Maglin’s MUG Collection – composed of waste and recycling containers, a planter, and a bike rack – combines the practical features of classic street furniture with elevated modern details. A collaboration with Italy’s Gibillero Design, MUG earns its playful name from the characteristic handle that defines each piece and presents the perfect opportunity for colorful expression.

MUG Collection

The versatile collection brings durability and style to a variety of contexts including educational, commercial, healthcare, and hospitality settings. Supported by an all-steel welded frame, the modern pieces are configured and constructed to withstand the demands of everyday urban use.

MUG is available with a wide range of customization options to ensure the designs suit their surroundings. The MUG planters and waste receptacles can be specified with a choice of wood or powder-coated steel slats, while the steel slats can be customized further with a choice of colors that contrast the frame. Additional customization options include vinyl graphics for labeling and a rain shield for waste and recycling units.

MUG Collection

The bike rack is similarly versatile. Developed with a slim vertical design to allow the racks to be grouped together or stand alone as a single unit in smaller spaces, the all-steel welded frame and tube post design can perform double duty as a bollard option for pedestrian areas. The MUG bicycle stand can be a single color or specified in contrasting colors.

MUG Collection

Each distinctively designed MUG element meets industry-standard configurations for site furnishings. Waste and recycling containers offer the capacity for a regular 32-gallon liner and open easily for access and removal with a steel latch and lock side-opening system. Planters, meanwhile, come standard with a polyurethane waterproof layer that coats the inside, eliminating the need for a liner. Planters also feature standard hex socket anchors, one of which can be removed to accommodate drainage and self-irrigation systems, which promote healthy greenery and blooms.

The combination of design-forward aesthetics and robust utility results in a collection that is original, enduring, and quietly expressive.
