
The Landscape Institute has announced the shortlist for the 2013 Awards with some great projects vying for the President’s Award including Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, the Olympic Park design for the 2016 Rio Olympics, Gorky Park in Moscow and the transformation of London’s Leicester Square. The winner will be announced on the 21st November at a lunchtime ceremony hosted by Wayne Hemingway
MBE.
2013 sees the introduction of some changes to the award categories. A new award for ‘Adding Value through Landscape’ has been included. There is also a new ‘Science, Management and Stewardship’ category to replace the ‘Landscape Science and Ecology’ category. In addition, the design awards now distinguish between public and private work at differing scales, with six awards to be given.
