The urban structure – to release the Square – is in remembrance to the former church Garnisonskirche. The open space is divided into three different areas. In the extension of the Spandauer Straße a generous urban square forms the central element of the development and defines a representive entrance for the adjacent residents.

The representive character of the surrounding buildings and its central location is emphasized by the high standard of the landscape design. The group of plane trees is surrounded by a bench and defines the setting of the square to the southwest and invites people to stay and to use the square as an amenity place. A prominent group of 3-5 plane trees has been planted in this area.

In between the new Square and the S-Bahn access runs an urban laneway, which is widely without any furniture and dominated by the located shops.

The selected material and the colours used in the public open spaces are matching with the surrounding architecture. The material for the square will be white asphalt.  The laneway is covered with anthracite coloured small sized natural stone paving.

The whole quarter is framed by a public walkway, which is partly in public and partly in private property and is designed by the typical design guidelines of the city of Berlin.
