Evan Mather, a landscape architect in Los Angeles has launched a kickstarter (crowd-source funding)campaign to celebrate National Month of Landscape Architecture. From Sea To Shining Sea will be a feature-length, time-lapse documentary film, tracing the route of American settlement from Jamestown, Virginia to San Francisco, California primarily via the Interstate Highway System.
The 105-minute video presentation as the shifting geophysical landscape (from coast to coast) is united physically by the transcontinental transect (highway) and socially by an interpretive audio collage of notable landscape architects, geographers, journalists, and citizens.
Evan is trying to raise $6,000USD for his time-lapse documentary film with a unique music score and he has listed the various benefits for pledgers/backers including DVD copy, involvement in audio collage, film posters, and producer credits.
Evan is an award-winning filmmaker working on short films about design and architectural issues. He has previously produced short films about changing landscapes from LA to Las Vegas (12 minutes to Las Vegas). So head over to kickstarter and help out a fellow landscape architect even if you can spare $1 it will help a landscape architect make his a feature film about landscape that will be shown across the world.
