EVENT | Landscape Futures Debate: How can we build beautiful places?


The Landscape Futures lecture series recently launched by the Landscape Institute aims to stimulate debate about the future of the landscape and explore the major themes affecting how our land is used and managed, and how that use will affect the prosperity and quality of life of all citizens.

Frazer Osment from the design, environment and sustainability consultancy LDA-Design, Mary Parsons from Places for People, one of the largest property management, development and regeneration companies in the UK, and David Birkbeck from Design for Homes, a not-for-profit company which champions the value of good design in the housing industry will travel to Birmingham to debate the question: How can we build beautiful places?  Chaired by Phil Mulligan, Chief Executive of the Landscape Institute, the panel will consider how we can build the volume of sustainable and liveable housing that we need, explore how we define a beautiful place and why we think one place beautiful and another not?
