World Landscape Architecture celebrates 5 years of publishing landscape architecture projects, news, competitions and book reviews. Originally a blog named World Landscape Architect with a few readers has grown into a webzine of over 35,000 readers and our more recently the WLA Quarterly Landscape Architecture Magazine.
One of the first posts back in 2007 was about “Michael Arad achieved the dream of many architects: He won the competition to design the memorial to the victims of September 11, 2001, in Manhattan.”, 5 years later and the 9/11 Memorial is now open and a landmark space in New York.
Over the last five years and almost 3,000 posts we have had the pleasure of publishing projects from across the world from the small gardens to the mega-city masterplans. Design Firms, students and government organisations have contributed a great deal to World Landscape Architecture and I would like to celebrate their contributions by giving our readers a free download(ipad or PDF) of the #05 edition of WLA Landscape Quarterly Magazine for the next week. The #05 edition includes the North Wharf Promenade in New Zealand by Taylor Cullity Lethlean & Wraight+Associates and also included is projects from SWA Group, Sasaki Associates, HM White, OKRA and more.
Also to celebrate our 5 years we will give away 5 print editions of the upcoming #07 edition of WLA Landscape Architecture Quarterly Magazine to 5 people who tell us their favorite project on World Landscape Architecture and why. Send your entry to [email protected] We will announce the 5 winners on December 14 .
Thank you to our readers and supporters.
