WLA is excited to welcome AtkinsRéalis as a new Sponsor. It is through the support of our sponsors and partners that we are able to continue to publish projects, news, competitions and editorials. WLA thanks AtkinsRéalis for their support and we look forward to partnering together in the future.

AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services company with offices around the globe, has an established Global Technical Network of Landscape Architects representing a diverse team of over 180 across our offices in Hong Kong, India, the Middle East, the US, Canada and the UK. The network has been meeting virtually on a quarterly basis for the past 5 years and have held several online conferences for the Company’s entire global landscape team. In June 2024, we held our first face to face meetings and workshops in London to amalgamate our global experience and collaborate on the future of our international team.

Across all of our regions we have a shared passion for designing thriving places for people and nature. We believe that our cities, rural spaces and public places should be designed to positively impact our everyday lives and the communities that we live within. We lead on the regeneration of our urban centres, natural environments and realisation of green infrastructure by adopting innovative approaches to climate resilience, water management and nature-based solutions.

We have greatly benefitted from our global cross collaboration with shared experiences, design reviews and workshops positively influencing our approach to projects. The London 2024 international workshop was particularly impactful in developing our future global strategy and action plans. We are looking forward to continuing to grow our network and see WLA as the perfect platform to become involved with.

We have included a selection of our international projects at different design stages from concept through to completion including Edinburgh George Street, Hong Kong Victoria Harbour, City of Dreams Cyprus, The Mukaab in Saudi Arabia and the Barbican City of London. We have also included our recent work on Nairobi Central Station that delivers a climate resilient design approach to integrate this major station, with the city through the establishment of Railway Square, Boma Park and the People’s Walk. This has been a really rewarding project for our team to collaborate with local stakeholders on creating a thriving place for people and nature in the heart of the Nairobi
