Daily Collegian reports that “Professor of landscape architecture and regional planning Jack Ahern returned to the University of Massachusetts after a trip to China last month, where he gave several lectures.
According to Ahern, China’s surge in urbanization “may be faster than anywhere else in the world,” and this made it an ideal place to investigate how to implement sustainability practices.
An important aspect of creating this “green” infrastructure is rainwater management, or “the way water moves between the sky and rivers and the streams,” added Ahearn.”
