Lots of Possibility Design Competition

Louisville Metro Government has launched “Lots of Possibility” Design Competition  to address issues of vacancy, blight and abandonment in its community. There are several thousand vacant lots throughout the city – of which approximately 450 are owned by Metro Government and/or the Landbank Authority, Inc. and available for redevelopment. The objective of this competition is to not only engage the community and solicit innovative, affordable and replicable ideas to return these vacant lots into productive use – but also to provide seed funding to see the ideas through implementation.

Pop Up Beer Garden | Philadelphia USA | Groundswell Design Group


What once was a vacant lot in Center City Philadelphia, Groundswell Design Group has transformed into a Pop Up Beer Garden. This project was done in partnership with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, University of the Arts, and Four Corners Management.

In the project “e_co_llectiva” the public space of the streets and the vacant lots in the internal parts of the four building blocks is unified so as to create a single urban garden-park which promotes the concept of collective activity. This intervention is given the title ‘e_co_llectiva’ after ecology (eco), collectivity (collectiva) and new technologies (e).
