Guangzhou City Government announced that two winning entries were selected for the Guangzhou Fangchun Huadi Sustainable Master Plan competition. The two separate entries selected include the team of Rainer Schmidt Landscape Architects with Guangzhou Planning Design Institute and another entry by West 8.
The Landscape Institute, Mayor of London and Garden Museum has announced Pop Down by Fletcher Priest Architects as the winner of the A High Line for London design competition.
Fletcher Priest Architects designed Pop Down to “create an urban mushroom garden lit by sculptural glass-fibre mushrooms at street level inside the ‘Mail Rail’ tunnels beneath Oxford Street.”
We envision this project as an opportunity to reach a large number of people, where we are able to showcase the use of native plants in a region and country that has been going through extensive ecological changes in a short period of time. We hope to bring a fresh perspective to these plants and their original habitats, using the pavilion space to showcase, through graphic materials, the different ecosystems where the plants originate.
