The ALEXANDER S.ONASSIS PUBLIC BENEFIT FOUNDATION has launched Rethink Athens, a European architectural competition for the re-constitution of Athens city centre along the axis of Panepistimiou str., and invites all interested candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria to register. Purpose of the Competition is the selection of the Architect (Person or legal entity), that will undertake the design of the architectural public space for the creation of a New City Center in Athens along the axis of Panepistimiou Street.

Plan Tide by Stijlgroep landscape and urban design is one of several projects selected by the jurors of the Suburbia 2.0 competition, an international competition for built and unbuilt residential landscapes. Suburbia 2.0 was held by James Rose Center for landscape architectural research and design. Plan Tide was former sports fields envisioned as unique and distinctive landscape orientated residential area.
ASPECT Studios with Choi Ropiha Fighera have been chosen by Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority to design and deliver Sydney’s Ultimo Pedestrian Network (UPN). The linear elevated public space will be a highly anticipated and activated city space with many of Sydney’s key cultural and educational institutions located along its edges. The UPN project will provide improved pedestrian and cyclist access and circulation from the Railway Square bus and train interchange into the south-west corner of Darling Harbour. The institutions which have a direct investment into the project include the Powerhouse Museum, The ABC, TAFE – Sydney Institute, the City of Sydney Council, and Infrastructure NSW and UTS with its new Gehry designed school of business on the doorstep of the UPN. City Park in Bradford, designed by Gillespies landscape architects and urban designers on behalf of Bradford Council and supported by a multi-disciplinary design team, was officially launched on March 24th 2012. The landmark public space contains the largest city-centre water feature anywhere in the UK, a 4,000sq m mirror pool, and the UK’s tallest urban fountain which reaches a spectacular 100ft. |
