The Headland Park will be a grand harbour park for Sydney linked by a continuous waterfront promenade stretching from Woolloomooloo to the Anzac Bridge. The Park will consist of six hectares of waterfront parkland at Millers Point and will be an exciting addition for residents and visitors to Sydney.

In October 2009, the government launched an international search for a team to design the Headland Park and urban waterfront at Barangaroo. The winning design team of Johnson Pilton Walker, in association with Peter Walker and Partners Landscape Architecture continues to work with the Authority.

The proposed Colorado Avenue Esplanade Project will integrate the Expo Light Rail into the Downtown, streamlining the existing intersection functions and guiding passengers to their business, shopping, cultural and entertainment destinations. The project accomplishes this with a combination of major urban design improvements at the Downtown Expo Station Plaza and along Colorado Avenue between 4th Street and Ocean Avenue. The improvements organize and simplify the flow of pedestrians, vehicles and bicycles, and provide more detailed directional cues such as new signage and green street improvements that clarify pathways, improve wayfinding, enhance landscaping, and provide public art.

National 9/11 Memorial was recently dedicated on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11/2001 when many people lost there lives during the attacks on the USA. The Memorial designed by PWP Landscape Architecture & Micheal Arad have not only created a powerful memorial where families and friends can come to grieve but also a city park that people can use everyday to sit under the trees and enjoy the New York skyline surrounding the site and watch the rebuilding of area with new towers. There are many design elements that required great thought, development and testing including the trees, waterfalls, name arrangement and these were developed by talented people to create the beautiful space we see today.

‘The rebuilding of both the memorial together with the surrounding buildings will give the American people a sense of rebirth from the terrible attacks of 9/11.’
