The existing Town of Kansas pedestrian bridge in Kansas City, Missouri received some enhancements to the positive experience it currently enjoys. Kansas City as we know it today originated as the “Town of Kansas” when Lewis and Clark first stopped here while traversing the Missouri River and is the beginning of the cities Main Street.

The striking red Peace Bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava opened to the public with a community celebration on Saturday 24 March. The bridge design was unveiled in 2009 to varied opinions and created controvesy for its color, design and cost. Now that has faded into the background as the bridge has become a reality and opened to the public with many celebrating by crossing the bridge for the first time.

2014 Nanjing Youth Olympics Urban Design Competition | Nanjing China | SPUA

The 2nd World Youth Olympics Games will be held in Nanjing China in the year of 2014. It will attract the world’s best young athletes to compete against each other representing the future and life of the world’s competitive spirit.

Located in the outer suburbs of Nanjing city in the district of Hexing, the new Olympic site will act as a catalyst for a new commercial center that will activate not only the district, but also the Yangtze Riverfront which the city of Nanjing has turned its back on throughout its history. The site attempts to integrate new offices, commercial malls and shops, with future generations of residences and the Olympic Village that are all connected by the central Olympic Corridor that runs and bridges over the future dyke and highway; bridging the city to the water.
