Architectural Competition – Concours d’Architecture [AC-CA] have announced a single stage cometition to design a Champagne Bar along the Paris river “Seine” and by the romantic “Pont des Arts”.

The competition hopes to achieve the following:
_Encourage and reward design excellence at a medium scale which integrates function, structure and details.
_Research and investigate the various combination possibilities to create a social space within the city.
_To generate the discussion of ideas regarding the relation between architecture and water.
_Encourage the employment of sustainable design in all aspects of the proposal.

Taktyk wins 2012 Topos Landscape Award

The Topos Landscape Award for 2012 has been awarded to Taktyk. Sebastien Penfornis, an architect and Thierry Kandjee,  is a landscape architect who operate Taktyk Landscape + Urbanism offices in Paris and Brussels.  Taktyk  is a  multidisciplinary practice that engages in city making through practice, research, design studio, editing and art installation.

The wide range of responsibilities taken on by the office, and the broad engagements of the partners in very diverse areas is now recognised with the Topos Landscape Award 2012. The award recognises young teams or individuals who can demonstrate success, and are likely to drive momentum in the development of the profession on an international level.

“Ring” is an installation which takes into consideration the urban space networking : the rhythm, flow, organization and spatial hierarchy. The installation embodies a visual effect that is to connect all of these interactions through the implementation of an optical effect: the repetition of an cubic mirror to break the perception of the place.
